After a long, successful summer full of the tourist events, charter runs, and vacation rentals that are vital to the local economy, Destin has established a way of "thanking" itself with a month-long fishing rodeo of family, fun, and excitement.Food for Thought Outreach collected more food last month at the PB and J Soiree at Beachy Beach Destin Real Estate than they ever have before a any one single event!"This was an amazing out pour of support for our first official collection for the Destin area, we are lucky to collect this much food in a six week drive, much less a couple of hours!" says Tiffanie Shelton, founder of Food for Thought, which has been serving Walton county school children for the past three years.Recently, Shelton and her organization made the commitment to expand into the Destin area, starting with Destin Elementary school in the upcoming school year.

June 12 | Power of Business Breakfast: Held at the Vue on 30A and sponsored by Trustmark National Bank. The breakfast will begin with networking at 7:00 a. m.with the program beginning at 7:30 a. m. The program will focus on the current state of Walton County and Northwest Florida. Speakers include State Representative Marti Coley as well as Chairman of the BCC Kenneth Pridgen. Attendees will be provided the chance to ask questions of the speakers.

Food will be provided by Signature Catering and will be Mediterranean in theme.
