Here are 6 reasons you might want to move, list or invest along the east end of Panama City Beach, often called the Grand Lagoon of Panama City Beach quite the Hot Spot:
1. Water Sports Are Made Easy on The East End
Water sports like enjoying a pontoon rental with friends, sailing, riding jet ski's or taking your own boat out for a day trip to Shell Island are all easily achieved on the east end of Panama City Beach. Companies like Island Time and Paradise adventures offer several excursions on their catamaran with something for everyone from day tours sprinkled with dolphin sightseeing to sunset cruises with a cash bar. Personal boat storage is also made easy with multiple marinas such as Lighthouse, Treasure Island, or Pirates Cove Marina.
2. PCB Sports Complex
The new Panama City Beach Sports Complex at 50 Chip Seal Parkway is a GEM for both locals and visitors. State of the art facilities open around the clock provide multiple opportunities to book events, play softball, lacrosse, soccer, filed hockey, kickball, etc and is a fantastic site for travel team tournaments. Those with vacation rentals on the east end of the beach would be smart to cater to this demographic as PCB Sports Complex is expected to have the economic impact on the east end of the beach as Frank Brown Park did on the west end of the beach. Fun Fact…..A brand new skate park is coming to the complex as well! Visit www.playpanamacitybeach.com for more info.
3. Prime Beach Spots with Plenty of Parking
St. Andrews State Park is a beautiful local asset for a beach day. Swim, snorkel or surf at the park which has access to the Gulf of Mexico on one side and on St. Andrews Bay on the other. Shuttles are also available to Shell Island during season. Plenty of parking, bathrooms, picnic tables with grill areas and serene walking paths all make the park a favorite spot to visit. The Beach Behind Schooners, aka "The Last Local Beach Club" offers a prime beach spot with plenty of extra parking off Thomas Drive. Locals gather behind Schooners to see the sunset, play beach volleyball or enjoy local events like Lobster Fest.
4. Yummy food served up by Local Restaurateurs.
The majority of the locally owned restaurants are on the east end off Thomas Drive including delicious pizza from Panama Pizzeria, wings from Christos, Sunday brunch from Andy's Flower Power, seafood and Cajun heaven at the sparkling new location of Dat Cajun Place, your favorite Mexican faves and Margaritas at Diego's Burrito Factory, and some of the best pub food and local live music after a day at the beach at none other than Patches Pub and Grill.
5. Navy Base and Coast Guard Station
Besides the world class training facilities such as our dive school being an asset to our area and tied to our economic success in Bay County, having the navy base on the east end of the beach means there is always a demand for rental homes in the area, as many military families are wanting to find homes that offer them a short jaunt to the beach AND to the base. This is perk for those wanting more options for their home, if it's not time to sell just yet, renting out to a military family is also a great option.
6. Convenient Location - Means you have options!
Get to town or the beach in minutes Enjoy the beaches off Thomas Drive at public access points like Rick Selter Park and the Grand Lagoon Farmers market on Saturdays or jaunt over to historic St. Andrews for their walkable streets and live music at places like The Taproom. Or perhaps you want to head over to downtown Panama City, also accessible by the Hathaway bridge in minutes! Not feeling the city? No problem...head westward towards the shops at Pier Park or drive a little further west towards the beach towns of Santa Rosa Beach off the iconic Hwy 30A. Point being, nestled on the east end, you have options!
