Dear Amazing, Fantastic, Creative, Bold and beautiful Beachy Beachers!!!
If rain does not fall, Corn does not grow!!! Yoruba proverb
This wonderful career we have is NOT for everyone because everyone does not have the grace or the stamina for it. Thankfully so much of our profession is filled with excitement and joy but as in life the rain must fall.
"Every farmer knows a good hard rain is needed to make a healthy crop. It will strengthen the roots, fatten the stalks and produce a healthy yield. A responsible farmer prepares for rain. He prepares the field by clearing away all the remnants of past crops. he irrigates the field so the rainwater can run off. He carefully guards his crop to keep away the birds and insects. Through it all, he has faith in his ability as a farmer knowing the is doing all that he can. Our lives are much like the field of corn, our challenges are the rain. We don't mind planting seeds , working the field or planning for the harvest, but we have a tendency to complain about the rain. " Iyanla Vanzant
These past few weeks a few of our tenacious agents met the ugly side of our business and had to make the decision to take the high road. They decided that fighting over money was not a fight worth fighting. They decided that having grace and honor was more important than making a deal. They decided that their values were not wrapped up in proving they were right. I am reminded of the question, "Would you rather be right or be happy"
I know that I choose happy. I choose to focus on what is right in our business. I choose to think about all the people we are able to help because of what we do. I choose to think about that customer we help get through a short sale or the excitement of helping someone buy their first home. I choose to remember all the agents that we know who honor each other and respect each other. I choose to think about all of you.
YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST CREATIVE, THE MOST LOVING, THE MOST HONORABLE, THE MOST LOVELY, THE MOST GIFTED BUT MOST OF ALL THE KINDEST GROUP OF PEOPLE ANYWHERE. I just pinch myself and thank God all the time that you choose to be working and spending your time at Beachy Beach. I know that I tell you all the time but it is worth repeating. I am so thankful for each and everyone of you and I could not have been more proud this week in witnessing agents do the Next right thing. I am convinced that this will lead to success unimaginable. Doing the right thing always has the most perfect gifts tucked inside of the challenge.
Feeling overwhelming love and gratitude,
Karen
