Beachy Beach (bonus) November Love Note
(Originally published November 3, 2014)
Dear BB's,
I guess this is somewhat a bonus love letter in that we are celebrating our first meeting held at our Thomas Drive office and I just thought I would share a little of my heart. WE are so excited in the transformation that has taken place in our office and oh what patience all of you have portrayed.... not to mention amazing TEAM WORK!!!
I noticed last week that the Today show slogan is 'Rise to Shine".... I just love that and it spoke to me. That is what we do.... that is why we are here.... We Rise to SHINE!!! Why else would you rise if not to bring a bit of cheer and delight and maybe even laughter to those you meet. Perhaps even lighten their load and brighten their way. Rising to shine allows us to think on what positive things we want to bring into our day. Just the thought of that creates a good day for you and for those you meet.
I am so tickled that so many of you bring such enthusiasm and such gifts to the table that together we are a FORCE to be reckoned with. We are all endowed with a seed of greatness and promise and the more we share it the more we keep of it. I have seen that in the lives that you are living and your heart of service and desire to do what is genuinely right for others.
Who you are makes a difference in my life and the lives around you. I have never seen so much talent and so much energy and spirit in one place. The reason Beachy Beach is so successful is because of all that energy that you all share out in our community and with each other.
One way to be an impact in your community and in your world is make it a point to tell at least one someone about the impact they have on your life. The ripple effect of that will be felt long after your statement is complete and in fact it may go on forever. One word spoken as encouragement has a way of changing hearts and changing lives.
Thanks for being one of my reasons to shine. I am so grateful to God that you have chosen to work and live and love with us at Beachy Beach. I do not take it lightly and know that you could go anywhere else but you choose to be here and for that I am so thankful and humbled.
I will say goodnight with one of my all time favorite thoughts by Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Everybody can be great.... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
Thankful for Grace... it is so sweet and so are you!!!
so much love,
Karen
