Beachy Beach October Love Note
(Originally published October 15, 2014)
Dear Beachy Beach people of amazement!!!
Waking up this morning I knew that I had to remind myself and you about the power of affirmations and how they work in my life. When I was going to school with my 3 young children and my more than full time job there were more than a few times that I had to counter the negative speak of the world and create my own language of Victory!!!! It took me 8 years to get a degree so the road was not a quick one but a worthwhile one.
So many times I would hear...."Why in the world are you going to school with 3 kids, think how long it will be when you finish? Is it really important? First of all YES it was important to me or I would not have done it and I will be just as old in 6 or so years if I go to school or if I don't. I will say it was one of the most arduous periods of my life but oh what a sweet feeling when I got that degree.
I had always believed in the power of my thoughts and my faith was my mainstay but it was reiterated when a teacher of mine would hug me and tell me DAILY how wonderful she thought I was. She also gave me a gift and to this day I have the physical evidence of it and most surely the mental evidence of the book by Shad Helmstetter, "What To Say when you Talk to Yourself"
I am sure you can guess where I am going with this one. The book is filled with powerful affirmations for most anything in your life from confidence building and even sales and oh my .... weight loss. Affirmation is much of what we do when we pray and thank God for our lives and especially when we thank him in advance for the blessings we know that we are going to receive. It is my total BELIEF that in our speech and in our thoughts we pretty much get what we talk about. If it is prosperity, if it is joy, if it is companionship that we claim then that is what comes to us.
Do yourself a favor and download his book on your kindle and I believe that if you do you will also download a new thought and talk pattern into your life. What do you have to loose???
I know that you are amazing and wonderful and filled with joy and love and hope and kindness!!!! There are so many adjectives that describe all of you but why not remind yourself that you are filled with greatness and designed for accomplishment. Your words have POWER!!!!
That sweet teacher who was battling cancer at the time had no idea that 25 plus years later I would always remember her words and use them for the victories and the struggles in my life.
I love you all so much and will see you soon!!!
Keep being WONDERFUL!!!
grateful,
karen
