Food for Thought is an area non-profit working to solve the problem of food insecurity in the school system, more specifically in Walton and Okaloosa counties. The program packs backpacks full of easy to eat items for children of low income families to take home on the weekends. This past year the program also has a food pantry in the some of the schools, where older students can go in pick up items they might need on their lunch break.
Their first year, they served a little over 100 kids, now they are serving 400 kids, four years later. And sadly, that is not even addressing all of the need in our area. Because of this we urge you to help us invest in our children. They can not learn in school with rumbling stomachs. The first step to them becoming educated and turning into our future leaders, is having their basic needs met.

Last Summer at the "PB and J Soiree" Event celebrating the Grand Opening of the Beachy Beach Destin office, more peanutbutter and jelly was collected for Food for Thought Outreach, than at any other single event. Most of it could not have been possible without Number One Destin Realtor,
Andrea Farrell. But she and the rest of the Beachy Beach Destin team need your help! Food for Thought Outreach is now serving 8 schools in our area!
There was a lot of momentum at last year's event, over 250 came and brought food donations for the non-profit that chose the year 2013 to expand into Destin area schools, after a few years of serving schools in Walton county. But as Food for Thought expands and provides more services, like food pantries for middle and high schools, the needs are greater.
Beachy Beach Destin and
Beachy Beach 30A are proud supporters of Food for Thought and we urge you to jump on board with us! #youcanhelp
