On The Bleachers
On the Bleachers
The Metal was not cold
But warmed me to my bone
For a little blonde haired boy
Could find me easily and know,
that he was Home.
On the Bleachers
I sat where I had never sat before
No appointments, lessons, or meetings to catch
No feeling that I should have done more
For when his eyes locked into mine
I knew, I chose Right this time.
On the Bleachers
Nine years hit me like a wave
Crashing hard on my conscience
I did not want to miss anymore.
Now that I witnessed his Joy,
I will sit where I never have sat before.
