Beachy Beach February Love Note
(Originally published February 20, 2013)
Dear Beachy Beachers,
Are short cuts really short?????
I know that sometimes we are tempted to try a short cut but most times that ends up costing us time, money, patience, friendships..... the list goes on and on. I once heard that a short cut is the "longest distance between 2 points"
Since I am not too good at geography I tend NOT to take short cuts in my life or my business lest I get more lost than I ever intended.
One of the greatest traits that we as Realtors can have is Diligence!!! You are all aware that this business does not lend itself to overnight success and if it appears to be overnight it took years of every day diligence. I have always loved the story of the bamboo tree and it equates well to what we do.
You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.
The second year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens.
The third year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens. How discouraging this becomes!
The fifth year you continue to water and fertilize the seed and then---take note. Sometime during the
fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!
All of you are the epitome of diligence and patience but moreover ENTHUSIASM for what you do!!!! I love you all so much and look forward to our time to live and to grow together.
I was at a chamber meeting this am and someone from another area said .... What is Beachy Beachy???
I told her it was the most amazing group of people with the biggest hearts and ... oh yes we Sell Real Estate and we do it in a different fashion. The world loves different!! They love enthusiasm and they love you!!! So plant those seeds and lets grow it together.
so grateful for all of you!!!!
Karen
