I am so excited Kris and I have been back at it with a new resolve since the beginning of December and as promised I am going to keep you updated on my progress. I want all my friends to keep me on my toes!!!
The first few weeks back were rough. Running for just 30 minutes seemed difficult and now we are back to our 40 minutes and beyond and I feel empowered and can't wait to crank up the miles. We are being smart and keeping injury free by using
Jeff Galloway's run-walk-run routine.
I know you are wondering.... why the juggler but it reminded me of one of my sweet friends that told me of her marathon adventures. I was lamenting that although I LOVE to run and I feel so proud of myself when I go up in the miles, I am still very slow. In fact, if someone asks me how fast I am I come back with, "I am faster than my friends who are sitting on the couch" My friend told me that when she ran a marathon, she knew that she was slow when a juggler passed her and was actually juggling the ENTIRE race. If that was not bad enough an 86-year-old man started running with her at the end to help her make it to the finish.
So moral of that story is: You do not have to be fast you just have to commit and just do it. There is nothing like the feeling you have as you improve each week and do the very thing that seemed impossible the week before. It is hard to explain but please believe me grab your shoes and join the adventure. My daughter and I will be running in the MORE WOMENS MARATHON in just 124 days. Share your running adventures with us and join me in body or in spirit or both.
Blessed day to you and I leave you with this powerful note "All of us are anxious to improve our circumstances but are unwilling to improve ourselves" James Allen
