I used to have a button that said,"Warning I am prone to sudden burst of enthusiasm"
I should have had that button this morning. This last week I started back running again, if you can call it running. The first few days I ran for about 30 minutes at a time and I thought oh my goodness how did I get here. It is like starting all over again. Today I ran with Scotty and Hugh and it was so amazing. I felt like dancing to all my happy songs on my Nano.
I am going to chronicle my journey to the race on April 26 so we can all keep me accountable. ( the picture of Debbie and I is to make her feel guilty about not running it with us)
I ran and walked a little over 4 miles this morning and it feels like I am getting a little more into the groove. I am hoping that some women out there know that they can do this. It is an amazing thing to be at the start line with all those other people who are setting goals and pushing past hardships and adversity and just doing it. I love it, it is so empowering and when you are setting goals and running there is not time for whining about the economy or jobs or any of the other things we have little control over.
If you are worried about going fast enough, heres the thing. I am a little faster than someone who is sitting on the couch so you do not have to be greased lightning to do this thing. Just get up off of that couch and dance and you'll feel better.
Oh yes, one more thing.... I started a clean eating program and I do not know if it is in my head but I sure felt better running today. I guess the body really does like good fuel.
Of course, I have to leave you with a happy thought to fuel your day.
Phychologist William James said. "In every person from the cradle to the grave, there is a deep craving to be appreciated." IF people do not receive affirmation and appreciation at home, there's a good chance they won't get it because in general, the world does not fulfill that desire. I encourage you today, to turn to those that you live with or are close to and tell them how much you appreciate them and see them change before your eyes. How grateful I am that I am lucky to have that at home. Thanks Hugh!!!!
I appreciate all you out there who lift me up and make my day bright.
Happy day to you.
