Okay I never quite thought I would need to know how to transport FREE kitties. Let me catch you up:
Sheldon moved to New Jersey to dance with his sister Britt at Fred Astaire. He left his beloved kitties Zella and Lace until he figured out his living situation. When he left with a backwards wave I was filled with excitement and made the mommy promise, "Don't worry I will get your kitties to you" Just a warning that is not an easy promise to fulfill.
If not for Bridgett and Vern my promise would have been idle words. Did you know that getting a cat somewhere is not so easy? I will give you a little information and you can get all the answers from my
WONDERFUL assistant Bridgett Ryan (850-233-4351) Our first quote was.... sit down... over $2000. so I thought it looked like I was going to be driving or trust Bridgett to find a way.
1. Get their health certificates, get them fixed, shots etc. BEST PLACE TO TO GO IS PARKWAY ANIMAL CENTER. Their prices well 75% less than all other vets that I called.
2. Buy 2 fairly large kitty carriers that can have a bowl attached and buy them a plane ticket from Continental. They are the only one that can do it this time of year because they have a climate controlled environment. Oh yes, I almost forgot an important part, Jill kept them for me for almost a week because my cats are not real good about allowing other animals in their home!!!
3. Find someone that is willing to drive them to Jacksonville (Vern), Pensacola is only standby and you can only put one kitty on the plane at a time.
4. Be prepared
to board kitties in case they have a weather delay. They will not put them up in the Hilton but you will have to pay $50 per kitty.
5. $1000.00 later rename your kitties Ralph Lauren and Visace.
6. Tell your son that he will have to take care of you for the rest of his life.
7. Be so grateful that Lace and Zella are now happy at home with their daddy, Sheldon.
To sum it up, it was rather an adventure trying to figure out how to get the cats to Sheldon. It was tedious at times, expensive, frustrating and rewarding all at the same time. I am proud of Sheldon because he is doing what he does best with his sister and my son-in-law. Life is such an exciting thing filled with twists and turns and finding a way to re join a son with his sweet kitties.
LEAVING YOU WITH A GREAT THOUGHT FOR YOUR DAY: "Everyody can be great...... because anyody can serve. you don't have to have a college degree to serve. you dont't have to make your suject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." Martin luther King Jr.
