A month-long event full of surprises for the entire family, and occasionally... a world record.
After a long, successful summer full of the tourist events, charter runs, and vacation rentals that are vital to the local economy, Destin has established a way of "thanking" itself with a month-long fishing rodeo of family, fun, and excitement.I feel very honored to be able to show mine and Beachy Beach Destin's support for this great event happening tomorrow September 7th starting at 7:30 am at the Crab Trap on Old 98. And if you have not signed up yet, they are still allowing people to jump in the day of! Just get there a little earlier! On Oct. 30, 2009, the Burke family lost their beautiful, 19 year old daughter, Holly, to a rare cancer called clear cell sarcoma. Holly was a wonderful daughter, and sister to four brothers and one sister. She graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 2009. She was very giving, and wanted to become a pediatric nurse. Holly helped create Shred Out Cancer, a non-profit foundation that supports other children with cancer, and their families. It was Holly's wish to help others and contribute to cancer research.
